Kathy Whitworth
Kathy Whitworth started playing golf at age 15 in Jal, New Mexico, beginning one of the greatest golf legacies of all time. Kathy’s winning ways began as an amateur when she captured two consecutive New Mexico State Amateur titles. As a professional, Kathy won her first event in 1962 and averaged three victories per season until her last win in 1985. Included in her victories are six LPGA major championship titles.
Kathy has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Vare Trophy (7 times) and LPGA Player of the Year (7 times). She captained the first two American Solheim Cup teams in 1990 and 1992 and is a member of the prestigious LPGA Hall of Fame and World Golf Hall of Fame
