I started golf at the age of 9 and became the top Singaporean junior golfer at the age of 17 and I am currently the #1 amateur golfer in Singapore. Being a representative of the National Team since 2006, I traveled to numerous places to participate in international tournaments and have broadened my view on competitive golf and gained a lot of valuable experiences. I turned professional in November 2011. I have joined the Singapore Professional Golf Association (SPGA), which also indicates the start of my professional career.
In September 2011 I was placed 84th on the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking and was the 5th Asian golfer ranked worldwide. Some of my highlights this year include: Making the cut in the “invitation only” Western Amateur Championship out of a field of 156 in Chicago; Coming 2nd at the Australian Cup and; Winning 4 national events including the Singapore National Amateur Championship. Most recently I came Tied 8th at the full-field Asian Tour event - the ISPS Handa Singapore Classic, also being the low amateur and the best placed Singaporean in the field.
Playing professional golf, I have a view in helping the less fortunate. Using my talent, I hope to give back to the community. I look forward to contribute part of my prize money to help children from deprived families and the handicapped, hoping that one day I can be part of their lives and help them pursue their dreams.
