Sandy Lyle
Sandy Lyle turned pro in 1977 having been a profilic winner in his teenage years. He claimed the Green Jacket at the 1988 Masters and refound some of this magic in 2009 with a vintage performance at Augusta the same year he finished tied sixth at the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters presented by the Stapleford Forum and joint thirteenth at The Senior Open Championship presented by MasterCard.
He was the first Briton to win at Augusta and also the first Briton to win The Open Championship since Tony Jacklin in 1969 when he lifted the Claret Jug in 1985 at Royal St George’s. In 2006 he was the Assistant Ryder Cup Captain to fellow ISPS Ambassador Ian Woosnam, taking the trophy for the first time since 1987.
